Vinyl is somewhat of an antiquity these days. With record stores shutting down left and right, and Serato taking the DJ game by storm, very few people still make use of this analog medium. However, for the record enthusiasts out there, the thrill of the hunt is still alive.
That being said, April 18 is National Record Store Day, which is described on the Nation Record Store Day website as being " the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances."
Participating stores in Cali include Amoeba, Fat Beats, Fingerprints, Rasputin, and many more. I will try to hit as many OC/LA/LB record stores I can on April 18 and do a follow-up post with the goods!
Ready. set. Dig.
