Shepard Fairey's Guest DJ set on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic"

I usually get to catch Jason Bentley's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" radio show on my way to work/school. Unfortunately, I missed it today only to find that graphic designer/street artist/DJ extraordinaire, Shepard Fairey, was playing some tunes.

It was nice to hear Shepard's take on street art, design, the Obama campaign, and of course, music. You can stream today's edition of "Morning Becomes Eclectic" on KCRW. His playlist shows a wide range of influences from Generation X, Led Zeppelin, and The Equals ("Police on my Back" was of course the opener), to Public Enemy, the Sex Pistols, and Eric B & Rakim.

Love it!

Fresh Cuts...Hiatus

As many of you know, I put Fresh Cuts Radio on hold for a bit, and in its place created my latest college radio project, Raw Radio Science. Spring quarter over at KUCI ended about a week ago and I just would like to thank everyone who listened to this show for their support. I hope you were all pleased with the latest "organic Hip-Hop concoctions," as I would put it. Shout-outs to Vivek as well for being the sidekick. Anyhow, after a brief stint with this show, I've decided to take a little summer vacation...

Radio-wise, I'll see ya'all in the Fall.

But there's no need to whip out the Kleenex and pint of Ben 'n Jerry's just yet. These indie radio shows will fulfill that hankering for musical goodness within you:

Open Session (KUCI, Irvine)
Innamissions (KUCI, Irvine)
Soup of the Day Radio (KUCI, Irvine)
Earthbound Radio (San Diego)
Sol of Hip-Hop Radio (Fullerton)
Third Floor Radio
Jeremy Sole (KCRW, Santa Monica)
East Village Radio (NYC)
